Foundation Construction for the Concentrator Started at Udokan MMP Construction Site
So far, excavation for foundations of the concentrator and reagent preparation building have been completed at site. Works on foundation mattresses are under way, reinforcement for concrete pouring has begun.

As Chairman of the Board of Directors of Baikal Mining Company Valery Kazikaev stated: “The works are conducted in accordance with the schedule. Foundations for the concentrator`s frame will be ready by the end of this year, and we will proceed to steel erection.”

Besides, 58 out of 96 transmission towers for the future Plant have already been built within the framework of power supply infrastructure construction for Udokan.

Construction of 220/35/10kV substation intended for operation in adverse highland climatic conditions is in full swing. All necessary equipment and materials have been procured. Foundations for the control centre buildings and switchgears are ready, foundations for lightning conductors are being built. Works are carried out 24/7.

Construction of power supply infrastructure will enable to provide power supply for the construction of the major facilities of the Plant and to bring Plant Phase 1 into operation.

Construction of an access road from Novaya Chara station to the Mining and Metallurgical Plant Site shall be finished by November 2019, by the start of construction of the concentrator`s buildings. Construction of a thoroughfare bypassing Udokan settlement shall be completed by the end of August within the framework of access road construction. 17 July 2019
